Historic Fairfax
Historic Fairfax, which is known as Old Town Fairfax, has plenty to offer for curious tourists. It was founded back in 1799 by big names such as William Fairfax, George Mason, and George Washington. When enjoying the sights and sounds of Historic Fairfax, you can either do a self-guided or a formal guided tour. You have plenty of historic buildings in the area to revel at, such as the Marr Monument, Old Town Hall, Old Fairfax jail, Fairfax Elementary School, For House, Joshua Gunnell House, Willam Gennel House, Ratcliffe-Allison House, and Fairfax Court House.
EagleBank Arena
If you want to have an exciting time watching a concert or show, then you might want to check-out the EagleBank Arena. It's a 10,000 seat arena and located within the campus area of George Mason University. Nowadays, it hosts plenty of family-friendly events and the hottest concerts. Some of the well-known annual events that happen in EagleBank Arena are The Wiggles, Disney On Ice, Sesame Street, The Harlem Globetrotters, and the Ringling Brothers & Barnum and Bailey Circus.
National Firearms Museum
The National Firearms Museum offers a collection of firearms that dates back all the way to the 1350s. It also features well-known exhibits like the firearms used by six presidents, six foreign heads of state, and 12 U.S. general officers. There are also notable treasures associated with the Civil War, the American Revolution, the Pilgrims, and other important events in the United States' history.
Burke Lake Park
If you want to relax in a lakeside location or prefer fun water activities, you might want to check out Burke Lake Park. The park features a 218-acre lake. And, there's plenty of fun water activities you can do, such as rowboat rental, boating, and fishing. You can also do other fun things such as the outdoor volleyball courts, miniature train, and camping. The park has even an 18-hole golf course, disk golf, and driving range.
Fairfax Symphony Orchestra
This professional orchestra is often hailed as the pride of Fairfax County. The orchestra performs for a widely varying audience, and they are mostly based in the George Mason University Center For The Arts. Furthermore, they also provide outreach and educational programs.
Fairfax Ice Arena
If you want to enjoy some ice skating no matter the time of the year, then you can check out Fairfax Ice Arena. The place is primarily an arena, but they offer public skating, hockey leagues, lessons, and skating parties.There's also a pro shop where you can find one of the widest selections of skating equipment in the local area.
